The Law firm was first established in 1994 by Mr. Mohammed K. Ibrahim, who has been a Lawyer in private practice since 1986 until his appointment as a Judge of the High Court of Kenya in June 2003.  It was then called Mohammed Ibrahim & Associates, Advocates. Thereafter it became a partnership of Mohammed K. Ibrahim and Ahmed Issack Hassan in January, 1998 under the name, Ibrahim & Issack Advocates.

Thereafter it became a partnership of Mohammed K. Ibrahim and Ahmed Issack Hassan in January, 1998 under the name, Ibrahim & Issack Advocates. With the elevation of Mohammed Ibrahim as a Judge, the firm has now changed its name to Ibrahim, Issack & Company, Advocates and is run as a Partnership of the following:-

General Background and Profile of the Firm

The Firm has been built through an ongoing commitment to quality and provides diversified legal services for a broad range of clients.
The Firm has Four (3) Lawyers (Partners), One (1) Associate Advocate, One (1) Legal Assistant and support staff of Ten (10) as Managers, Secretaries, Clerks and Office Assistants. A list of the Support staff with a summary of their qualifications is annexed to this profile.
The Law firm at all times acts with professionalism and integrity in the clients' best interest. The reputation and goodwill of the firm and the lawyers working here is beyond reproach and well regarded. There has never been any complaint of any misconduct against the firm and its lawyers lodged by any client in the firms' history. Indeed we have actually prosecuted some complaints against other lawyers for clients in the Advocates Complaints Commission and Law Society of Kenya Disciplinary Committee. Our records with these bodies is clean and can be verified by anybody.
The firm specialises in Banking, Conveyancing, Commercial and Insurance matters. These include transactions involving preparation of Bank securities like Mortgages, Charges, Debentures, Chattels Mortgage, etc. The firm undertakes the realisation of Bank securities through the sale of charged/mortgaged properties by public auctions or private treaty. We also carry out Debt Collection in respect of unsecured indebtedness by correspondence and/or through litigation.
The firm has handled routinely actions for the foreclosure of real estate either for borrowers or lenders as the case may be and personal property lien, enforcement of guarantees and related creditor-debtor matters.
While the firm’s bias is towards Corporate and Commercial Practice as set out above, we also have the capacity, on request, to take up general litigation including Criminal and Constitutional.
The Firm offers a range of Legal Services in the fields of Insurance including Recoveries, Accident claims and quantification of damages, Commercial and Conveyancing Law, preparation of Transfers of Land, Leases, Registration of Companies, Business Names, Trade Marks and Patents. In addition, the firm undertakes Debt Collection and Civil Litigation. Apart from routine correspondence on updates, progress or status reports are given to clients quarterly or shorter period on request.
The Firm aims at giving personalised quality service to clients of a diverse nature including Banks, Finance Companies, Insurance Companies and other Corporate institutions and individuals. The Firm also renders specialised services and consultancy to clients as need arises.
The firm has gained considerable experience in conveyancing, commercial work and civil litigation. We have been especially honoured to be acting for major banks, insurance companies and private and public corporations. We also act for major business Corporations and individuals from the Eastleigh business community.
The firm has substantial expertise and experience in the acquisition and sale of all types of real estate projects including shopping centres, office buildings, residential projects, industrial buildings and freehold commercial and residential real estate.
The firm is networked (LAN) and its attorneys and paralegals are computer literate and effectively employ the information technology available in handling client’s matters.
The firm’s attorneys assist clients in evaluating the strengths and weaknesses of their positions on an ongoing basis during litigation or other non-litigious transaction and counsel clients in attempting to resolve disputes prior to litigation or during the early stages of a lawsuit where feasible. At the same time, the firm prides itself in its forceful and compelling advocacy for its client’s cases.
The firm networks and collaborates with other firms in the legal profession both within and outside the country in the service of its clients. The firm has cultivated an effective and reliable networking with firms in Mombasa, Eldoret, Nakuru, Kisumu, Garissa and other major towns in Kenya in an effort to serve the needs of its clients.
The firm has also established successful working relationship with other law firms in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom and in the East African region. Such firms include Mussollino & Dessel in the United States of America, Clifford Chance and CMS Kameron in the U.K., Brad M. Cladwell in Canada, Kampala Associated Services in Uganda and others.

LIBRARY

The firm has invested in a legal library that is expanding rapidly so as to minimize on time spent on legal research outside its offices. Moreover, all the Lawyers in the firm are also members of the High Court Library.
The firm has a custom-made and fire proof safe to secure our clients' documents and other security documents.
MAIL AND DOCUMENTS DELIVERIES
The firm has two office assistants who deliver mail within Nairobi’s Central Business District and its environs during working hours. For out of town or international deliveries, we employ the services of reputable courier services.

REMUNERATION/BILLING SYSTEM:


Legal Charges on non-contentious matters
Different factors do influence the billing of legal fees by the firm. Nonetheless, the firm bills for legal fees in accordance with the prescribed rules under the Advocates Remuneration Order as read together with other or further rules as may be prescribed from time to time under the Advocates Act (Cap. 16 Laws of Kenya).
Debt Collection Matters attract legal fees based on paragraph 8 of Schedule V of the Advocates Remuneration Order. The firm can however enter into an agreement with its client on the mode of billing and the legal fees payable on a matter that is non-contentious (does not proceed to court) while Conveyancing matters are billed for in accordance with Schedule 1 of the aforesaid Order.
